Ulmer & Berne LLP is pleased to announce that Cleveland-based associate Candice Capoziello recently became an Associate Board Member for Recovery Resources.
Recovery Resources is a Cleveland nonprofit dedicated to providing prevention, intervention, treatment, and supportive services to initiate, manage, and sustain recovery from addiction and mental health challenges. The organization’s services include: HIV/Aids prevention, drug and alcohol prevention, assessment, psychiatry, medical care, mental health treatment, addiction treatment, employment, and housing. Recovery Resources uses evidence-based practices and continual evaluation of effectiveness to remain responsive to the complex needs of their clients throughout Northeast Ohio.
Capoziello is a member of Ulmer and Berne’s financial services practice group, where she regularly represents clients in court and in arbitrations before the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) involving customer claims of fraud, unsuitability, churning, and failure to supervise and industry-based claims involving restrictive covenants, trade secret misappropriation, and unfair competition. She also represents banks, finance companies, and mortgage servicers in a range of consumer and commercial finance matters. She helps clients navigate through claims and investigations involving, for example, the Consumer Sales Practices Act, the Fair Credit Reporting Act, the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, the Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act, the Telephone Consumer Protection Act, the Truth in Lending Act, and the Uniform Commercial Code. Capoziello earned her B.S. from Case Western Reserve University and her J.D. from the Cleveland-Marshall College of Law.
