December 7, 2020 – Ulmer & Berne LLP is pleased to announce that Partners Jeffrey S. Dunlap and Douglas K. Sesnowitz have been elected to Ulmer’s Management Committee, a seven-member group that is responsible for guiding the operations and strategic direction of the firm. Each will serve three-year terms on the committee beginning January 1, 2021.

Dunlap was reelected to his second consecutive term on the Management Committee. As Vice Chair of the Litigation Department, Dunlap helps guide Ulmer’s team of accomplished litigators and trial lawyers as they represent clients nationwide in complex litigation and arbitration matters. He has more than 30 years of experience representing businesses in a wide range of commercial and employment disputes including complex business, securities, employment discrimination, and unfair competition matters. He has successfully tried many cases before juries, judges, and arbitrators in complex litigation matters throughout the United States.
In addition to his practice, Dunlap serves as a volunteer with the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association’s 3Rs – Rights, Responsibilities, and Realities Program, which connects legal professionals with high school students in Cleveland and East Cleveland schools. Consistently recognized as a leader in his field, Dunlap has been named one of the top 100 lawyers in the state of Ohio and one of the top 50 lawyers in the city of Cleveland by Ohio Super Lawyers, among other honors. He earned his undergraduate degree with distinction from Cornell University and his J.D. from Harvard Law School.
Sesnowitz, Co-Group Leader of the firm’s Business Law Practice Group, will serve his first term on the Management Committee. He represents companies in a wide range of industries in complex corporate, commercial, and financing matters, including mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, and joint ventures. He serves as general counsel and advisor to many closely held and middle market companies in the manufacturing, distribution, retail, and service industries.
In addition to his work on the Management Committee, Sesnowitz serves as the Chair of the firm’s Committee on Legal Opinions. Recognized for his talent and skill, Sesnowitz has been named to The Best Lawyers in America© for Corporate Law for the last four years. He earned his undergraduate degree with honors from Washington University and his J.D. with honors from the Moritz College of Law at The Ohio State University.
