Edwards, Partner and Group Leader of Ulmer’s Employment & Labor Practice, has been elected as Chair of the Wittenberg University Board of Directors. Edwards is a 1989 Wittenberg University graduate and has been a member of the board since 2015. He was elected Vice-Chair in 2018, and has also served on the academic/student life, audit/compliance, and governance/Board affairs committees.
In his legal practice, Edwards represents employers in a wide range of employment claims ranging from EEOC collective action litigation to allegations of unlawful discrimination and ERISA non-compliance. A seasoned trial lawyer, Edwards counsels clients on proactive ways to stay out of the courtroom, providing advice and training to employers on various employee disciplinary issues. He has been recognized for two consecutive years as a “Labor and Employment” Star by Benchmark Litigation, is ranked among Best Lawyers in America® in Labor and Employment Law, and has been listed as an Ohio Super Lawyer.
In addition to his robust employment and labor practice, Edwards is a board member for the Little Italy Redevelopment Corporation in Cleveland. He is a former board member of the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation and the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation. In addition, he is an active member of several other organizations, including the American Bar Association and Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association.
