James A. Goldsmith to Receive Distinguished Advisor Award from University Hospitals

Ulmer & Berne LLP is proud to announce that James A. Goldsmith, Partner and Chair of the firm’s Trusts & Estates Practice Group, will receive the Distinguished Advisor Award from University Hospitals in Cleveland, Ohio. This award honors Goldsmith’s commitment to his clients in aiding their generosity, foresight, and civic vision to the mission of University Hospitals.

The Distinguished Advisor Award was created to recognize annually a member of the hospital’s Diamond Advisory Group for helping fulfill the hospital’s mission of advancing the science of health and the art of compassion. Goldsmith served as the Chair of the Diamond Advisory Group from 2016 to 2019, and helped lead its more than 170 volunteer legal, financial, real estate, and insurance professionals in helping benefactors of the hospital achieve their financial and philanthropic goals. Along with his colleagues, Goldsmith works in partnership with the hospital’s planned giving professionals to help donors support University Hospitals’ initiatives.

“We are very proud of Jim’s commitment and dedication to the mission of University Hospitals,” said Patricia A. Shlonsky, Partner-in-Charge of Ulmer’s Cleveland office. “Jim is a respected leader, both at our firm and in the community, and he is a longtime UH ambassador. It is wonderful that he uses his unique skills to assist others in their philanthropic support of such an important organization, and we’re thrilled he is being honored for his service to UH.”
