Cincinnati-based attorney Seth A. Voit has been elected to the board of CincyIP. During Mr. Voit’s three-year term he will collaborate with fellow leaders in Cincinnati’s intellectual property community to improve and expand on services for CincyIP’s members.
CincyIP, previously CIPLA, is the Cincinnati Intellectual Property Law Association. The organization provides continuing legal education to its members by securing top-quality, nationally recognized speakers to address the most current issues in intellectual property law.
Mr. Voit’s practice focuses on intellectual property and encompasses patent, trademark, and licensing matters. He prepares and facilitates ongoing prosecution of patent applications at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office in the electrical, mechanical, and computer science arts. His areas of expertise include semiconductors, state machines, thin-film transistors, ink jet printers, automotive control systems, bar-code scanners, automotive transmissions, fuel delivery technologies, magnetostrictive wave guides, automotive manufacturing systems, C++, UNIX/Linux programming, and data warehousing. Prior to becoming an attorney, Mr. Voit was an electrical engineer responsible for the development and maintenance of control systems, data acquisition units, and computer systems for power delivery at American Electric Power in Columbus, Ohio.
Mr. Voit earned his B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Ohio Northern University and his J.D., cum laude, from the University of Dayton School of Law.
