Ulmer & Berne LLP partner Thomas M. Williams is recognized for the third year in a row by the World Trademark Review (WTR) in their “WTR 1000 – The World’s Leading Trademark Professionals” rankings. WTR is the world’s only independent multimedia publication dedicated exclusively to reporting on trademark issues.
An accomplished litigator, Mr. Williams manages prosecution and maintenance of trademark portfolios and litigates trademark disputes on behalf of a number of the world’s largest and most sophisticated brands. He has extensive experience representing clients in all aspects of trademark law, including non-traditional marks and trade dress. Mr. Williams also represents brand owners in domain name disputes under the Uniform Domain-Name Dispute-Resolution Policy (UDRP) and Anti-Cybersquatting Consumer Protection Act (ACPA), and represents clients in trademark prosecution and counseling matters.
Mr. Williams regularly represents his clients before federal district and appellate courts in asserting and defending against trademark infringement claims. He also represents clients in proceedings before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board of the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, and in alternative dispute resolution proceedings.
Mr. Williams is named to the Illinois Super Lawyers list. He earned his undergraduate degree in behavioral sciences and law from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and his law degree from the University of Illinois College of Law.
