September 27, 2021 – Ulmer & Berne LLP is pleased to share that Associate Sachin V. Java has been appointed to the Board of Directors of the Cleveland Animal Protective League (APL), a nonprofit humane society and progressive leader in animal welfare. His three-year term will begin on January 1, 2022.
Java is a longtime supporter of local animal welfare organizations through his volunteer work and his adoption of a rescue dog. In his role on the Board of Directors, Java will support the Cleveland APL in its mission to foster compassion and end animal suffering.
In his legal practice, Java focuses on corporate law matters including business counseling, mergers and acquisitions, and health care regulatory compliance. Working with clients in the health care industry on a variety of transactional matters, he is experienced with commercial contracts, corporate formation, governance and compliance, and divestitures, as well as health care issues such as operations transfers, change of ownership matters, and compliance with federal and state fraud and abuse laws.
Java is an active member of several bar associations and serves on the Council on Conscious Inclusion and the Ethics and Professionalism Committee for the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association, on the Board of Directors of the Asian American Bar Association of Ohio, and as Treasurer of the South Asian Bar Association of Ohio. He also participates in the Garrett Morgan Professionals Group, a planned giving advisory board for the Great Lakes Science Center. In addition, in recognition of his legal accomplishments, he was named to the Ohio Super Lawyers list of Rising Stars.
