December 22, 2020 – Ulmer & Berne LLP is pleased to announce its selection of Partner Michael S. Tucker as Group Leader of the Corporate Restructuring & Creditors’ Rights Practice Group, along with the promotion of Lisa Marlo Kuhnell to Counsel, both effective January 1, 2021.
Tucker, a member of the firm’s Cleveland office and an attorney with extensive experience in the areas of bankruptcy law and creditors’ rights, is certified as a specialist in business bankruptcy law by the American Board of Certification. He represents debtors, creditors, and trustees in all aspects of business/commercial Chapter 7, 11, and 13 bankruptcies, and represents commercial creditors in out-of-court workouts, foreclosure actions, receiverships, and replevins. He also represents receivers in state court receiverships and protects the rights of commercial landlords in the retail industry when tenant-retailers file for bankruptcy.
Tucker currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Foundation, and previously served as Chair of the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association’s Bankruptcy and Commercial Law Section and as Chair of the Ohio State Bar Association’s Banking, Commercial, and Bankruptcy Committee. Consistently recognized for his talent and skill, Tucker has been named to the Ohio Super Lawyers list every year since 2004 and has been named to The Best Lawyers in America© every year since 2008.

Kuhnell, a member of the firm’s Cincinnati office, focuses her practice on product liability, pharmaceutical, medical device, and mass tort litigation, as well as intellectual property law. She represents companies of all sizes in various aspects of litigation including discovery, motion practice, and trial preparation. She also prepares and facilitates ongoing prosecution of patent applications at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. In addition to her practice, Kuhnell is a member of the Intellectual Property Owners Association Pharmaceutical Issues Committee. She has been named to the Ohio Super Lawyers Rising Stars list for the last five years and to the Best Lawyers® Ones to Watch lists for Product Liability Litigation – Defendants and Patent Law.
