Ulmer Adds Two Attorneys to Growing Corporate Department

Stanley and Hofmann to support the firm’s Business Law and Real Estate practices

May 23, 2022 – Ulmer & Berne LLP is pleased to announce the addition of two attorneys to the firm’s Corporate Department. Matthew M. Stanley joins the Business Law Practice Group in Cleveland, while Mary C. Hofmann joins the Real Estate Practice Group in Cincinnati.

Stanley focuses his practice on the representation of private and publicly held companies in a variety of corporate law matters. He has experience representing clients with respect to mergers and acquisitions, financing transactions, business restructuring, corporate governance, and business succession planning. Prior to becoming an attorney, Stanley worked in banking and as a management consultant where he was primarily focused on corporate finance, treasury and risk management, and asset valuation matters. He is a member of The Lawyers Guild of the Catholic Diocese of Cleveland and serves as Finance Counsel for Our Lady of Peace Church in Cleveland, Ohio. He earned his undergraduate degree from Miami University, his MBA from Indiana University, and his J.D. from the Cleveland-Marshall College of Law at Cleveland State University.

Hofmann will focus her practice on real estate and environmental law, and assist with project development, construction contracts, and environmental matters. She will also be involved in land use and zoning matters. Hofmann previously served as an intern with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency where she worked in the Water Enforcement Division of the Office of Enforcement and Compliance Assurance. She earned her undergraduate degree from The Ohio State University and her J.D. with honors from The University of Toledo College of Law where she received her Certificate of Concentration in Environmental Law.
