September 20, 2022 – Ulmer & Berne LLP is pleased to announce the addition of Alexander J. Johnson to the firm’s growing Venture Law Practice Group. Johnson joins Ulmer’s Cincinnati office as Counsel, where he will focus his practice on the needs of startups, venture-backed and growth stage companies, and established businesses.

Johnson has more than a decade of experience conducting patent and trademark searches, drafting invalidity reports and appeal briefs, and drafting and prosecuting patent applications. He advises clients on a range of corporate transactional matters including corporate formation, entity structure, and governance. He also has experience assisting clients with patent and trademark preparation and prosecution with the USPTO and foreign patent offices, as well as initiating their global and/or domestic business and intellectual property strategy. Johnson earned his undergraduate degree from Miami University, and his J.D. from the University of Akron School of Law, magna cum laude.
