She represents a diverse array of clients in multidistrict, coordinated, and consolidated proceedings, as well as putative class actions. She has experience with all aspects of litigation and dispute resolution, and handles key aspects of complex litigation, including motion practice, written discovery, taking and defending depositions, and trial preparation.

Admitted to practice in both Ohio and Kentucky, Springer is a member of several local bar associations and serves as Vice Chair of the Common Pleas Court Practice Group for the Cincinnati Bar Association. She earned her undergraduate degree from Centre College and her J.D. with honors from the University of Cincinnati College of Law, where she served as the Executive Editor of the University of Cincinnati Law Review.

“Melissa joins our growing team of product liability litigators that works tirelessly to help our clients achieve their best results,” said John R. Ipsaro, Co-Group Leader of Ulmer’s Product Liability Practice Group. “Her experience at all stages of complex litigation and her passion for providing superior client service makes her a great fit at Ulmer.”

Tomsick joins Ulmer’s Cleveland office and will focus her practice on the resolution of complex business disputes. She initially will draft pleadings, review and analyze discovery documents, assess cases and prepare preliminary evaluations of client exposure and potential liability, as well as conduct legal research and draft memoranda on a broad range of legal issues. She earned her undergraduate degree with honors from John Carroll University, and her J.D. with honors from the Cleveland-Marshall College of Law at Cleveland State University, where she served as Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Law and Health.

“We’re very pleased to bring Emma on as an associate,” said Paul R. Harris, Group Leader of Ulmer’s Business Litigation Practice Group. “We became well aware of Emma’s talent when she served with us as a summer associate. She makes a great addition to our thriving practice, and her hard work and drive will add great value for our clients.”
