Shana Ortiz See Named to List of Latino Leaders Worth Watching

February 22, 2023 – Shana Ortiz See, a Partner in Ulmer’s Product Liability Practice Group, has been named to the 2023 list of Latino Leaders Worth Watching by Profiles in Diversity Journal. This special feature recognizes determined, high-performing Latino leaders who create value for their coworkers, clients, and communities.

“It’s such an honor to be recognized on this year’s list of Latino Leaders Worth Watching,” said Ortiz See. “This group of Latino professionals is leading so authentically, making a difference in their communities and in their respective fields, and I’m thrilled to be among them.”

Ortiz See is an accomplished litigator with deep experience representing manufacturers in product liability and drug and medical device cases. She has served as national coordinating counsel for an auto manufacturer, where she defended alleged manufacturing and/or design defect cases, most involving fires. She has first-chaired numerous bench and jury trials throughout Ohio and nationwide. Ortiz See also has significant national health care and commercial litigation experience, defending, among others, managed care plans in large arbitrations, and major corporations in tax and contract disputes.

Outside of her practice, Ortiz See is an active member in the firm’s Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging Committee and UB WILL, Ulmer’s Women in Law and Leadership initiative. Passionate about giving back to the legal community, she mentors Hispanic law students interested in pursuing a litigation career through both the Columbus and Hispanic National Bar Associations. She is a member of The Alumni Society, a private network of Latino leaders who graduated from the nation’s top universities. She is also involved in her local community, previously serving as PTA President for St. Matthew School in Gahanna, Ohio, and as assistant coach for its track and cross country teams.

Ortiz See earned her undergraduate degree with honors from Kenyon College, her J.D. from Duke University School of Law, and her LL.M. in Taxation from Northwestern University School of Law.
