Ulmer & Berne LLP is pleased to announce that Mary Forbes Lovett, Partner and Chair of Ulmer’s Real Estate Practice Group, has been elected to the firm’s Management Committee. Lovett is one of two women serving on this seven-member committee, which is responsible for guiding the operations and strategic direction of the firm.

Lovett focuses her practice on real estate law, and has significant experience handling development, acquisition, and alternative financing, including tax credit, tax increment, and public financing. She specializes in the development and financing of urban properties. She is certified by the Ohio State Bar Association as a specialist in business, commercial, and industrial real property law, and advises developers on all aspects of the purchase, finance, construction, sale, and lease of all types of property.
A leader within the firm, Lovett previously served on the Management Committee from 2016 to 2017. In addition to joining the Management Committee, she is an active member of the firm’s Women in Law and Leadership initiative (UB WILL) and Diversity & Inclusion Committee. She also serves as President of the Board of Advisors for Heritage Ohio, a group fostering economic development and sustainability through preservation of historic buildings.
Lovett is consistently recognized as a top real estate attorney. She has been ranked as one of Ohio’s “Leaders in Their Field” in Real Estate by Chambers USA for the last four years and has been named to The Best Lawyers in America© for Real Estate Law every year since 2009, among other honors. She received her undergraduate degree with honors from The Ohio State University, and her law degree with honors from the Cleveland-Marshall College of Law at Cleveland State University.
