Jeffrey J. Patter Joins Board of the Economic & Community Development Institute

August 3, 2023 – Ulmer & Berne LLP is pleased to share that Jeffrey J. Patter, a Partner in the firm’s Columbus office, has been elected to the Economic & Community Development Institute’s Board of Directors.

The Economic & Community Development Institute (ECDI) is one of the top U.S. Small Business Association (SBA) intermediary microlenders with a mission to invest in people to create measurable and enduring social and economic change. ECDI provides responsible, affordable lending and comprehensive small business development services to help underbanked people and communities join the economic mainstream. ECDI’s target population includes low-moderate income individuals, minorities, women, immigrants, and refugees, and those otherwise precluded from funding from a traditional financial institution.

Patter is an experienced business attorney focusing primarily on business transactions, business services, and mergers and acquisitions. Throughout his career, he has represented businesses of all sizes and negotiated numerous multimillion dollar sales and acquisitions of corporate entities. Patter is also an experienced employment and labor law attorney representing businesses in all aspects of employment law.

Patter is a dedicated community advocate. Prior to his election to the ECDI board, Patter was appointed a member of ECDI’s Loan Review Committee, which works in conjunction with the Board to approve loans that ECDI provides. He also previously volunteered with the Resurrecting Lives Foundation and Columbus Speech and Hearing.
