July 14, 2020 – Ulmer & Berne LLP is pleased to share that Hillary E. Maynard has been appointed to the Chicago Bar Association (CBA)’s Young Lawyer Section Intellectual Property Law Committee. Maynard previously served on the CBA’s Women in the Law Committee.
The Intellectual Property Law Committee presents monthly talks and discussions on current developments on copyright, trademark, patent, and trade secret law. As a member of the committee, Maynard will assist in planning the monthly talks, many of which concern the nexus between the Internet and IP law. The meetings are attended not only by IP specialists, but also by general practitioners with an interest in this rapidly changing field.
Maynard is an associate in the firm’s Chicago office. She counsels clients on intellectual property matters, including trademark matters, unfair competition, and copyright issues. Maynard handles trademark clearance, prosecution, portfolio maintenance, and enforcement for brand owners in multiple industries. She also assists with securities and commodities litigation, intellectual property litigation, and other complex litigation.
