Ulmer to Kick Off Employment & Labor Coffee Talk Series with #MeToo Discussion

Sexual harassment, opioid use, and immigration issues continue to plague companies worldwide as social media and sheer statistics have catapulted them to the forefront of not only the headlines, but to the desks of HR professionals. Ulmer & Berne’s Employment & Labor Group is launching a Coffee Talk series to cover these critical HR concerns, employment issues, and more.

The first topic up is the ever-growing #MeToo movement, which started as a viral sensation and has led to the real life toppling of lauded directors, famous chefs, well-known media personalities, and top CEOs. While those stories get nightly news coverage, the impact has challenged companies both large and small to examine their policies and procedures in handling sexual harassment claims.

We assembled a panel of speakers with decades of experience in crisis management, HR, conducting investigations, counseling clients, litigating cases in court, evaluating policies and procedures, and training leadership on these matters. The panel will discuss what businesses can do to mitigate risk, provide assistance to employees, and continue to foster a workplace culture of safety and well-being.
