Ulmer & Berne LLP is pleased to share that Associate Brooke Tyus has taken on leadership roles with the Case Western Reserve University (CWRU) Law Alumni Association Board and Women in Music, a national nonprofit focused on achieving gender equality in the music industry.
Tyus was recently elected to the CWRU Law Alumni Association Board, which consists of active alumni who demonstrate professional excellence in the corporate, nonprofit, private, and public sectors. Each year, members of the board distinguish themselves as stewards of the law school and participate in volunteer activities that support students, faculty, alumni, and staff. Her election to the board will be recognized and become official at the law school’s annual Alumni & Faculty Dinner in October.
She was also instrumental in the recent launch of the Cleveland chapter of Women in Music, and now serves as the chapter’s Chair and as Vice Chair of the Membership Committee. Founded in 1985, Women in Music is the industry’s leading nonprofit working toward gender equality. Tyus’ commitment to starting this chapter helps expand the organization’s mission through education, support, empowerment, and recognition.
Tyus is a member of Ulmer’s Real Estate Practice Group and focuses her practice on real estate, business, and nonprofit matters. She advises clients on a wide range of real estate issues, assists with all aspects of the due diligence process, and assists with real estate and corporate documentation. Actively involved in the community, she also serves on the Board of Directors for Larchmere Porchfest, a nonprofit that supports the arts by hosting an annual music festival of the same name in Cleveland’s Larchmere neighborhood. She received both her undergraduate and law degrees from CWRU, and graduated law school with honors after having served as the Editor-in Chief of the Journal of International Law.
