Sara S. Dorland


Sara focuses her practice on general business litigation and the resolution of complex business disputes. She has experience with all aspects of the litigation process having represented clients in matters involving commercial contracts, commercial real estate, financial services, professional liability, and employer restrictive covenants.

  • Assists with the review and summary of discovery documents, and the management of case files from client intake through settlement, trial, or arbitration.
  • Researches and drafts memoranda analyzing a broad range of complex legal issues.
  • Served as part of trial team that successfully tried a case involving the purchase of commercial real estate.
  • Served as part of a litigation team that successfully settled a dispute involving land acquisition and the assignment of oil and gas rights.
  • Served as part of a litigation team that reached a favorable settlement in an employment dispute involving the misappropriation of trade secrets.
  • Served as part of a litigation team that reached a favorable settlement for a horsemen’s group in a complex commercial contract dispute involving various contract claims.
  • Previously served as an Extern to Judge Kim R. Gibson of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania and Magistrate Judge Kathleen B. Burke of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Ohio.
