Blaine focuses his practice on resolving complex business disputes, particularly in the financial services industry. He represents national banks, broker-dealers, and financial advisory firms in court, FINRA arbitration, and regulatory proceedings. Blaine is experienced in defending a range of financial services clients before the CME, FINRA, CFTC, SEC, NFA, and before state securities regulators.

Experience

  • Experienced in all stages of customer arbitrations before FINRA and the NFA, and if necessary, the appellate process.
  • Second-chaired several customer dispute FINRA arbitrations featuring allegations of fraud and unsuitability.
  • Second-chaired a multiday NFA arbitration in successfully defending an Introducing Broker against charges of fraud for multimillion dollars.
  • Defended a financial advisor in a FINRA enforcement action, and aided in the negotiation of a settlement with regulatory authorities.
  • Experienced in defending individuals and business entities before regulators including the SEC, FINRA, NFA, CFTC, and various state securities regulators.
