CLEVELAND (December 29, 2009) — Ulmer & Berne LLP announced today that the Firm has signed the American Bar Association Commission on Mental and Physical Disability Law’s Pledge for Change. The Pledge affirms Ulmer & Berne’s commitment to diversity, specifically disability diversity, and recognizes that diversity is in the best interest of the profession, those the profession serves, as well as the Firm itself. The Pledge also announces that Ulmer & Berne will encourage others in the legal industry to make this commitment.
The Pledge was created in response to the lack of lawyers with disabilities in the profession. Its distribution was approved by the ABA Board of Governors Operations and Communications Committee.
“Diversity on all levels is a core value and strategic initiative at our Firm,” stated Kip Reader, the Firm’s Managing Partner. “We are honored to sign the pledge and will encourage others to do so as well.”
