The event, presented by The American Lawyer and The National Law Journal, will feature leaders from the nation’s preeminent midsize law firms, discussing proven management and leadership strategies for midsized law firms.
Mr. Reader will sit on a panel titled, “The Changing Role of the Managing Partner for the Mid-sized Firm: Striking the Balance between Leadership, Management and Client Relationships,” which will address strategies for addressing new economic challenges, managing growth, the role of the managing partner as a producer versus a manager, staffing models, term length, succession planning, and changes in billing models. Other panelists will include David Brown, Editor-In-Chief of The National Law Journal; Timothy J. Ochsenhirt, chairman and CEO of Roetzel & Andress, LPA; and Ronald H. Shechtman, managing partner at Pryor Cashman LLP.
Mr. Reader, who, as Ulmer & Berne’s managing partner for the last 15 years, has helped grow the Firm to its current size of more than 175 attorneys – including an aggressive expansion into the Chicago market over the last year.
