MAJ Adam C. Miller Appointed As New Command Judge Advocate, 209th Regional Support Group, U.S. Army Reserve

COLUMBUS (June 30, 2009) — MAJ Adam C. Miller (JA, USAR), an attorney in Ulmer & Berne LLP’s Columbus office, was recently appointed by Lt. Gen. Black, U.S. Army Judge Advocate General, as the new Command Judge Advocate, 209th Regional Support Group (RSG), U.S. Army Reserve.  The 209th RSG is a Brigade level element responsible for command and control of three Army Reserve “CBRNE” Chemical Battalions. The 209th RSG’s mission is focused on homeland security and providing support to state and national authorities upon request.  The 209th RSG spans geographically dispersed units across the entire Midwest and Southwestern U.S.   These CBRNE units protect against threats involving chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear and high explosives.  The 209th RSG supports the U.S. Army Northern Command’s JTF-Civil Support, in the event that a federal disaster declaration occurs and civilian authorities request assistance.  

Prior to his appointment at the 209th RSG, MAJ Miller served as the Command Judge Advocate for the 643rd RSG from 2007 through 2009, as the chief legal advisor for Army Reserve logistics units across the State of Ohio.  He was appointed by President Clinton to a Direct Commission in the U.S. Army Judge Advocate General’s Corps in 1996.  MAJ Miller is a combat veteran of Operation Enduring Freedom (Afghanistan) and his decorations include the Global War on Terrorism Service and Expeditionary Medals, National Defense Service Medal, Army Achievement Medal with 1 Oak Leaf Cluster, and the Army Commendation Medal with 2 Oak Leaf Clusters.
