CHICAGO (August 26, 2009) — Ulmer & Berne LLP announced today the addition of Scott A. Meyers and David W. Porteous to its Chicago office as partners in the Litigation Department. Prior to joining Ulmer & Berne, both attorneys were partners with Levenfeld Pearlstein, LLC.
Scott and David’s practices concentrate on complex civil litigation and arbitration, regulatory investigations and enforcement proceedings, internal investigations, and employment disputes in the securities and financial services industries, with a particular emphasis on hedge funds, investment advisers, and broker-dealers.

Scott has successfully litigated many high-profile cases and he is currently representing several domestic and international hedge funds in a number of significant litigation matters involving mortgage-backed securities fraud, accountant liability, portfolio allocation fraud, and margin liquidation issues. Scott received his J.D., cum laude, from Georgetown University Law Center and his B.S., cum laude, from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
David has successfully litigated a wide range of complex commercial matters in federal and state courts pertaining to hedge fund governance, redemption and lockup provisions, partnership disputes, and employment disputes. David also regularly counsels clients regarding compliance and risk management practices and procedures. David received his J.D., cum laude, from Tulane University Law School and his B.A., with honors, from the University of Wisconsin at Madison.
