CLEVELAND (December 18, 2009) — Ulmer & Berne LLP announced today the addition of Sean T. Peppard as Counsel in its Business Department. Sean focuses his practice on corporate law, corporate finance and mergers and acquisitions with a particular focus on private equity and hedge funds. Before joining Ulmer & Berne, Sean was an attorney with Squire, Sanders & Dempsey.

As an attorney with Ulmer & Berne, Sean’s practice focuses on general corporate law, mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance, securities law and corporate governance matters for both public and private companies. Sean has an active alternative investment practice, including representing private equity and hedge fund clients in their fund formation efforts as well as the acquisition and disposition of portfolio companies. He also represents limited partners in their investments into hedge funds, funds-of-funds, real estate opportunity funds and other private equity investment funds. Finally, Sean represents growth companies in their fundraising efforts and in the negotiation of strategic partnerships. He received his J.D. from The University of Michigan Law School and his B.A. from Yale University. Sean has been named an Ohio Super Lawyer Rising Star by Law & Politics magazine.
