At a Glance

Ashley, a registered patent attorney, practices primarily in the area of patent litigation. She also has experience in drafting freedom-to-operate and other such legal opinions.  Ashley’s practice is rounded out with the litigation of product liability matters and a range of complex commercial proceedings including business torts and contract disputes.

As a judicial law clerk to the Hon. Patricia A. Gaughan in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Ohio, Ashley advised the Court on the full range of pending civil matters including patent infringement litigation, trade secret disputes, actions to enforce non-compete agreements and cases involving breaches of fiduciary duty, fraudulent transfers and UCC matters.

Before attending law school, Ashley worked for a number of years in both the chemical and software industries.

  • Participated in defense of biotechnology and pharmaceutical clients against patent infringement claims, including fact discovery and depositions, claim construction, expert discovery, damages, dispositive motions, pre-trial motions, trial, and post-trial practice.
  • Prepared expert witness for testimony at deposition and trial in 10-figure patent invalidity suit.
  • Managed dozens of pharmaceutical product liability matters for Fortune 500 client from answering complaints and taking of fact witness depositions to drafting of dispositive motions.
  • Successfully settled three related contract disputes on behalf of a Fortune 500 client.
