Eric focuses his practice on Intellectual Property.  He counsels individual and corporate clients as to securement, ownership, licensing, avoidance of infringement, dispute resolution, and enforcement of patents, trademarks and copyrights.  He also prepares and facilitates ongoing prosecution of patent applications at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office in the electrical, mechanical, and computer science arts.  Eric's patent litigation experience includes Federal Court and International Trade Commission cases.

  • Prepared and facilitated ongoing prosecution of patent applications at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office in the electrical, mechanical, and computer science arts.  Also coordinated filing and prosecution of PCT and foreign national patent applications.
  • Prepared and facilitated ongoing prosecution of trademark applications at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.  Also coordinated filing of foreign national trademark applications.
  • Prepared oral and written patentability, freedom to practice, non-infringement, and validity opinions.
  • Conducted audits of usage and ownership of intellectual property by clients and third parties.
  • Drafted intellectual property agreements involving licensing, supply, consulting, confidentiality, and settlement.
  • Patent litigation experience in Federal Court and International Trade Commission including claim construction strategy, Markman proceedings, and many aspects of discovery including third party discovery and expert discovery. 
  • Engineering work experience includes the development of industrial motor and process control systems.
