Adam focuses on representing public governmental entities such as local, city, and exempted village school districts, multi-county educational service centers, joint vocational school districts, and statewide educational associations. From a central Ohio base, Adam works with clients from all geographic parts of Ohio and each of Ohio's urban centers. Adam also has experience handling legal matters for public and private colleges and universities. In 2007, he served as a loaned General Counsel for the Akron Public Schools. He also has experience working with joint economic development districts, cities, villages, counties, and multi-county port authorities. Adam helps school districts reconfigure their educational operations to meet instructional and funding imperatives. He has extensive experience working with state and federal grants, budgets, and related issues.
As a former public school teacher, head coach and superintendent, Adam brings a unique understanding of educational operations at all levels to his public law practice. Experienced in working with school districts across Ohio of every size, and instructional configuration; Adam helps school district leaders find legal solutions in matters relating to state funding, school facilities, state and federal grant applications and grant management, medical and prescription drug insurance contracts; school finance; tuition and residency; student transportation and student discipline; administrative and employee contracts; litigation defense; public employee discipline and termination, public employee labor negotiations and arbitrations; governmental relations; creation of economic development districts; public employee benefits; and risk management. He is particularly versed in the legal aspects of charter and alternative schools and how these schools impact traditional public school district operations.
