Bill is the Chair of the Real Estate Group. In nearly 30 years of practice, he has represented private and publicly held property owners, contractors and developers, as well as governmental entities. Bill’s expertise includes construction law, affordable housing, real estate development, property taxation and abatement, and leasing. In the corporate area, he concentrates on corporate governance issues and general business counseling.  Bill’s litigation practice focuses on property ownership disputes, bankruptcy litigation, leasing matters, title insurance litigation and construction claims.

  • Represented one of the largest U.S. banks in a sale/leaseback transaction valued at over $100,000,000.
  • Represented land developer in the acquisition and negotiation of joint-venture agreements for the development of a 336 acre upscale housing community.
  • Represented national Cleveland-based developer in connection with the land acquisition and development of over 2500 units of affordable housing in Ohio, Michigan, Texas, Louisiana and North Carolina.
  • Represented one of the world's largest, NYSE-traded, quick service restaurant chains in the ownership consolidation of company-owned stores throughout the United States.
  • Represented purchaser of golf course for development into housing community.
  • Represented seller of 240 acres in bargain sale of recreational use property to conservation organization and public authority for preservation purposes.
  • Represented parties before County Boards of Revision and State Board of Tax Appeals in connection with property tax valuation complaints for properties with aggregate values exceeding $100,000,000.
