Tax Advantaged Investments

The Firm serves as counsel for several developers of LIHTC projects (low income housing tax credit projects) in Ohio and surrounding states. The Firm also represents several neighborhood development corporations who frequently are the grantees of conservation easements. Our tax attorneys work closely with other lawyers in the Firm to assist with the broad range of tax issues that arise in connection with the structuring, negotiating, documenting and closing of our clients’ LIHTC and conservation easement projects.

Ulmer & Berne’s tax attorneys also have knowledge and experience with projects that qualify for the rehabilitation (historic) tax credit. We work with the developers of these projects, as well as the project investors and lenders, to identify and resolve the tax issues involved in these transactions.
