CLEVELAND (September 25, 2007) — Ulmer & Berne LLP announced today that one of its attorneys, Joseph S. Simms, has been appointed to the Executive Board of The Leprechaun Foundation and was also named as its treasurer.
Established in 1980, The Leprechaun Foundation anonymously grants terminally and chronically ill children “their greatest individual dream or desire.” The children and family recipients of these dream fulfillments also remain anonymous throughout the process.
As an attorney at Ulmer & Berne, Mr. Simms’ practice involves various aspects of complex business and commercial litigation, including claims of unfair competition, trade secrets violations, breach of contract, fraud and general tort litigation. He also regularly handles complex securities litigation and arbitration, financial institution litigation, regulatory investigations and inquiries, and broker-dealer liability defense, in which he represents brokers, broker-dealers and investment advisors in claims involving allegations of wrongdoing and professional misconduct. Mr. Simms is a graduate of The Ohio State University (1993) and received his J.D. from Cleveland-Marshall College of Law (1996).
