CLEVELAND (July 18, 2007) — Ulmer & Berne LLP announced today that one of its attorneys, Richik Sarkar, has been selected to serve a one-year term as Secretary Treasurer for the William K. Thomas Inn of Court and appointed to serve a two-year term as an At-Large Delegate for the Ohio State Bar Association Counsel of Delegates. 

The William K. Thomas Inn of Court is part of the American Inn of Courts and is designed to improve the skills, professionalism and ethics of the bench and bar. The William K. Thomas Inn of Court is an amalgam of judges, lawyers, law professors and law students. The Inn helps lawyers to become more effective advocates and counselors with a keener ethical awareness; allowing members to learn side-by-side with the most experienced judges and attorneys in the community. The William K. Thomas Inn of Court meets monthly to "break bread" and to hold programs and discussions on matters of ethics, skills and professionalism.

As an attorney with Ulmer & Berne, Sarkar focuses on complex litigation, administrative proceedings and alternative dispute resolution in the areas of commercial, product liability and public law. His expertise includes litigation in the areas of: business torts, contracts, corporate governance, securities and finance, real estate, real property taxation and education law.
