Employment litigation forms the basis of Stephanie’s practice. She includes both large corporations and smaller businesses among her clients and has extensive experience working with business owners, employees, HR departments and corporate counsel in the defense of employment claims. Stephanie has handled a wide range of employment matters including harassment, discrimination, retaliation and wrongful discharge claims, as well as those involving the Family Medical Leave Act and most other employment-related issues. She also counsels employers on avoidance of employment claims and compliance with various federal and state related statutes and assists in the drafting of policies and employee handbooks.

  • A large publicly traded telecommunications company defending against claims of sex and age discrimination during a reduction-in-force. (All claims against our clients were dismissed, and the dismissal was affirmed on appeal).
  • A large publicly traded provider of wireless communication services defending against claims of age and sex discrimination by multiple plaintiffs in a reduction-of-force. (All claims against our clients were dismissed, and the dismissal was affirmed on appeal).
  • A large publicly traded provider of components for telecommunications equipment defending against claims of race and disability discrimination. (All claims against our clients were dismissed, and the dismissal was affirmed on appeal).
  • A large publicly traded energy supplier defending against claims of sexual harassment and retaliation. (All claims against our client were dismissed, and the dismissal was affirmed on appeal).
  • A large publicly traded telecommunications company defending against claims of race, disability and age discrimination, conspiracy to interfere with civil rights, promissory estoppel, and negligent retention and supervision. (All claims against our client were dismissed, and the dismissal was affirmed on appeal).
  • A large publicly traded supplier of petroleum products defending against a pregnancy discrimination claim.
  • A large hospital defending against a religious discrimination claim.
  • A large publicly traded telecommunications company defending against claims of sexual harassment and retaliation by multiple plaintiffs.
  • A large publicly traded provider of components for telecommunications equipment defending against claims of disability and age discrimination, a violation of the Equal Pay Act, retaliation, a violation of the Family Medical Leave Act and intentional infliction of emotional distress.
  • A real estate developer defending against claims of same-sex sexual harassment.

Regularly provides counseling to employers and training to HR managers, business owners and employees regarding anti-discrimination laws and compliance with the Family Medical Leave Act and other employment-related statutes.
